22 Oct 11 Law enforcement officials look for missing traveler from Grand Forks

Police are asking people to be on the lookout for a Grand Forks
woman who was traveling to Shelton, Wash., to visit relatives and
never arrived at her destination.

Florence Agness Dumontet, 82, left Grand Forks Sunday morning and
should have arrived in Shelton on Monday night. She filled gas at
7:22 a.m. Sunday in Grand Forks.

“She is generally meticulous about her schedule and stays in touch
while she is traveling. She has not been heard from and her
cellphone goes directly to voicemail,” a release from the
Department of Emergency Services said.

Police believe Dumontet would have refilled gas in Bismarck between
11 a.m. and 1 p.m., based on wind conditions and her pickup’s
expected gas mileage. She likely would have refilled again in Miles
City, Mont.

Police believe she would have traveled on Interstate 94 to
Billings, Mont., then Interstate 90 to Washington. In past trips to
Washington, Dumontet stayed overnight in Missoula, Mont. According
to the Idaho I-90 Corridor License Plate Reader program, Mrs.
Dumontet’s vehicle has not traveled on I-90 in Idaho.

Dumontet is white and has white hair and blue eyes. She is 5 feet
tall and weighs 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a
white-colored jacket, black slacks, black shoes and glasses. Her
hair is a little longer than in a photo distributed by police. Her
family says she has a heart condition.

Dumontet is driving a black 2008 Lincoln Mark LT crew-cab pickup,
with North Dakota license plate HXY089. The pickup, of which
Dumontet is the registered owner, has chrome nerf bars, a black
vinyl tonneau cover over the box and chrome accent rocker panels on
the lower side of the pickup. She is traveling with a cream-colored

Anyone with information about Dumontet should call the Grand Forks
County Sheriff’s Department at (701) 780-8280.
