MACHESNEY PARK — A 1939 Maybach SW38 Sport Roadster owned by Dana and Patti Mecum of Rockford and a 1931 Duesenberg Model J owned by John and Elaine Klein of Indianapolis shared best-of-show honors in the Classics and Chrome Car Show this weekend.
A total of 10,201 people attended the two-day show, presented by State Farm Insurance, at the old Menards building. The show drew more than 125 vehicles and set a record for attendance.
More than 8,000 votes were cast for the People’s Choice Award, which was won by Ron Schneider of Franklin, Wis., for his 1936 Stout Scarab.

Sports Car Class: 1960 Austin Healey Coupe, Bill and Marie Naretta, Rockton
Special Interest Class: 1951 Ferrari Testerossa, Bob Shaw, Richmond
Motorcycles: 2012 KW Custom, Troy Finner, Rockford
Raffle winners were Cindy Ralston of Roscoe, John Ruud of Machesney Park and Jeff Furst of Rockford.
