Northern Illinois’ largest indoor car show will celebrate cars and the people that love them this in Machesney Park this weekend.
Over 100 years of automotive history will be on display at the event which has been organized as a benefit for Keith Country Day School. Pre- and post-war vehicles, sports cars, muscle cars, hot-rods and customs cars, exotic and race cars, speciality cars, and motorcycles will all be on display. Some featured cars include a 1931 Duesenberg Model J, a 2008 Lamborghini Superleggera, and a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7.
Food will be provided by Der Rathskellar, there will be a performance by Indianapolis 500 magician Bill Hunter, and vendor booths will have giveaways. The show will also feature a raffle with a grand prize of $15,000. Second prize is $3,000 and third prize is $2,000. Raffle tickets will be $100 each and $500 for six.
Admission is $6 and available at the door. Children 10 and under are free. Raffle tickets are available in advance and can be downloaded at www.ClassicsAndChrome.com.
The show will take place at the old Menard’s building in Machesney Park on April 21 and April 22. Saturday’s hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday’s are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
