31 Jan 12 How to See When Someone Unfriends You on Facebook

Would you like to know when someone “unfriends” you on Facebook? There’s not a native way to see this information, and unless you keep a very close eye on your friend list, it’s likely when your friend count goes down, you aren’t sure who went missing.

We have found a simple script that works with Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer that notifies you when someone on Facebook unfriends you, alerts you when someone you’re friends with deactivates their profile, and helps keep track of your friend requests.

If you’re interested in adding this functionality to your Facebook account, then take a look through the gallery for more information. We’ve tried and tested it for Chrome and Firefox and recommend giving it a go.

Firefox users will have to first install the
Greasemonkey add-on.

Once installed, you’ll see two new features in Facebook. There will be an “Unfriends” tab on the top-right of your screen and an “Unfriends” option in your “Favorites” list.

When someone unfriends you, a red number notification will appear above the “Unfriends” tab.

The script also displays the unfriend info on your main “Notifications” tab.

The information will also be displayed if you click on the “Unfriends” option in your “Favorites” list, where it also provides the date and time you were unfriended.

As well as telling you who unfriended you, the script will also alert you if someone you were friends with deactivates (and re-activates) his profile.

Finally, use this script to keep track of friend requests.

It will show your pending requests, and give you info on who has ignored, or cancelled your request.

So, will you give this script a go?

Do you think Facebook should show this information? Or, would you rather not know?
